Navigating rubbers future
in a finite world

BIRCH IS AT OUR CORE.

Reselo started as a research project at the Wallenberg Wood Science Centre (WWSC) at KTH. Supported through a WWSC stipend, Thomas's task was to valorise birch bark. After almost 2 years of research, Thomas developed a biorefinery process to produce a novel elastomeric biomaterial from birch bark. In 2020, the founders formed the Greener Materials team, and by 2021, Reselo was born. Since then, our team has quickly demonstrated the production process's scalability and commercial feasibility.

Phasing out fossil-derived materials with renewable alternatives requires enormous efforts from the chemical industry. This means moving away from using crude oil as a primary feedstock to using renewable biomass for production. We are facilitating this transition by following the impact-trough-scale concept, looking beyond simply demonstrating what is possible to implement real change as soon as possible.

With Reselo Rubber, we can help replace the more than 15 million tons of synthetic rubber produced yearly from fossil resources with a material that is 100% from birch bark

We do it together

Even our name reflects collaboration! Beselo means Birch in Esperanto, a language crafted to bring us together. In 2022, we sold the first kg of our bioelastomer, Reselo Rubber. Since then, Reselo has obtained its first customers and expanded into new markets.
